previous nursing moms – how did u get Your Baby to sleep while stopping breastfeeding?
my lil man is about to be 11 months and im on the process of finishing up nursing him- however im intimidated- how do i get him to take naps now when all he wants is to nurse to sleep! Even during the night- and im a stay at home mom always around w/ no other to help-
What do u suggest?
I stopped BFing when my son was 10 mos. The last feeding I took away was his bedtime feeding. He would get bottles all day and than I would nurse before he went to bed. At that age, a baby doesn’t need to be fed during the night, it is just habit. So, when my son would wake up during the night, I would nurse him but every night the time would get shorter and shorter. I did that until the time was down to only one or two minutes and than I would just stick his nuk in. After doing that for a few days, when I would go in during the night I would hold him like I was feeding him but only give him his nuk. After that it got to where I could just go in and give him his nuk without even taking him out of his bed. It did take some time but it really worked well. Good luck..
